Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has marked International SME Day by hosting a special event for SME entrepreneurs, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the growth and development of small and medium enterprises in Bangladesh, says a media release Monday.

Held recently at EBL's Principal Branch in Dhaka, the event celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit, recognised the achievements of SME customers and highlighted the role of SMEs in generating employment, driving innovation and contributing to the country's sustainable economic growth.

During the programme, EBL officials reaffirmed the bank's commitment to empowering entrepreneurs through tailored financial solutions, advisory support and long-term partnerships to help businesses grow sustainably. They also highlighted EBL's continued focus on strengthening the SME sector through innovative banking products, customer-centric services and sustainable financing initiatives.

Participating entrepreneurs shared their business journeys, success stories and experiences of working with EBL to expand their enterprises.

Among those present were Mohammad Salekeen Ibrahim, Head of Asset, Md Shabu Munshi, Head of SME Business, and other senior officials of the bank.

According to the statement, the bank remains committed to promoting entrepreneurship, supporting business growth and contributing to a more inclusive and resilient economy as one of the country's leading SME financiers.
