Matrix Sweaters Limited, one of Bangladesh's leading sweater exporters and a sister concern of Labib Group, has been awarded LEED Platinum certification with 88 points by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), recognising the company's achievements in sustainable manufacturing, energy efficiency and environmentally safe working conditions.
The momentous accolade was celebrated at a ceremony held recently at the Labib Group corporate office, attended by prominent dignitaries of Labib Group and Ecoray Group.
The certificate was accepted by Salahuddin Alamgir (CIP), Chairman of Labib Group; Sultana Jahan (CIP), Vice Chairman of Labib Group; Papia Akter, DMD (Finance); and Animesh Chandra Majumder, DMD (Sweater Division).
The certification marks Labib Group's fourth LEED-accredited facility. Three other concerns under the group -- Sultana Sweaters Ltd, Nice Cotton Ltd and Raidha Collections Ltd -- have previously attained the designation, establishing Labib Group as one of the few conglomerates in Bangladesh's readymade garment sector to hold multiple LEED certifications across its operations.
The achievement further cements Matrix Sweaters Ltd's position as a responsible manufacturer at a time when environmental compliance and green production standards are increasingly shaping global buyer preferences and supply chain decisions.
