Dhaka will host the inaugural Dhaka Discount Fest 2026 in December, bringing together around 250 local and international brands under one roof with discounts of up to 75 per cent, organisers said on Wednesday.

Describing it as one of the largest discount festivals in South Asia, they said the three-day event aims to promote quality products, strengthen business networking and create new market opportunities for participating brands.

The announcement was made at a press conference at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka. The festival is being organised by Eventcom, with Vantora Communications Limited as the supporting partner.

The event will be held from December 10 to 12 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Agargaon. Besides Bangladeshi companies, brands and business organisations from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and several other Asian and European countries are expected to participate.

Organisers said the festival will enable consumers to purchase quality products from local and international brands at discounted prices while helping emerging Bangladeshi brands enhance their visibility and expand their business networks.

Companies completing stall bookings by July 16 will receive a flat 50-per cent discount on rental charges under an early-bird offer.

Project Director of Dhaka Discount Fest 2026, Dr Md Taslim Amin Shovon, said the festival would strengthen links between brands and consumers and contribute to the growth of the country's retail market.

Eventcom Head of Operations Shafiqul Islam said the festival would provide businesses with opportunities to reach new customers and explore new markets.

Chief Facilitator (Women Empowerment) Jinnat Ara Bari said the event would offer women entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their products to buyers, corporate organisations, distributors and business partners.

The organisers said the festival would be held annually, with plans to expand it to divisional cities and eventually overseas following the Dhaka edition.
