In observance of World Environment Day 2026, Syngenta Bangladesh organised a tree plantation awareness programme and distributed saplings among school students in Rupganj, Narayanganj, under its SynGreen: Planting for a Greener Tomorrow initiative.

The programme brought together the company’s Country Leadership Team (CLT), school authorities, teachers, and students. The initiative aims to encourage tree plantation, strengthen environmental awareness among young people, and promote a greener and more sustainable Bangladesh.

Speaking as the chief guest, Hedayet Ullah, Managing Director of Syngenta Bangladesh, said that every tree planted today is an investment in a healthier and more sustainable future. He noted that through the SynGreen initiative, the company seeks not only to plant saplings but also to inspire the younger generation to take responsibility for protecting nature and preserving the environment.

The programme featured awareness sessions highlighting the role of trees in addressing climate change, conserving biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance. Students were encouraged to plant and care for the saplings distributed during the event as a symbol of their commitment to environmental stewardship.

As part of its sustainability initiative, Syngenta Bangladesh plans to distribute 15,000 saplings across the country by 2030 through the SynGreen initiative. By working with educational institutions, local communities, government agencies and farming communities, the company aims to expand green spaces, promote environmental responsibility and encourage collective action towards a more sustainable future.
