The Nationalist ICT Forum (NICTF) has expelled 13 executive members over allegations of activities contrary to the organisation’s policies, violations of organisational discipline, conduct undermining mutual harmony, disrespectful behaviour towards senior leaders, and involvement in anti-organisational activities using the forum’s name and identity.
The information was disclosed in a press release signed by the forum’s Acting General Secretary, Md. Mamun Or Rashid.
According to the statement, copies of the decision have been sent to the Chairman, Secretary General and Senior Joint Secretary General (Office) of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
The press release said an emergency general meeting of the Nationalist ICT Forum was held on June 30, 2026.
The meeting unanimously decided to expel 13 members.
It also claimed that evidence had been found against some individuals for allegedly working as spies.
Following consultations with the advisory council and after review and verification, disciplinary action was taken against the individuals concerned, resulting in their expulsion from the organisation.
The expelled members are Prof. Shah J. Mia (Adviser), Abbas Faruk (Adviser), Rowshan Kamal James (General Secretary, Md. Samiul Islam (Vice-President), Rokonuzzaman Rony (Joint General Secretary), Engineer Md. Jewel (Office Secretary), Nauyid Hossain (Finance Secretary), Shamim Azad (Cultural Secretary), Tapit Hasan Chowdhury (Training Affairs Secretary, Md. Al-Mamun (Social Welfare Secretary, Saimum Reza Talukdar (Legal Affairs Secretary), Reyad Hasnain (Member),Maksud Hossain (Member).
The organisation said the decision takes immediate effect in the interest of maintaining discipline, protecting the organisation’s broader interests and ensuring a conducive environment for its activities.
The Acting General Secretary requested all members and concerned stakeholders of the Nationalist ICT Forum to take note of the decision.
