The Bangladesh Customs & VAT Officers’ Association (BACUAV) has congratulated Ahsan Habib on his appointment as the chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
In a congratulatory message issued on Monday, the association’s President, K M Mahbub Alam, and Secretary General, Tanvir Ahmed, extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the newly appointed NBR chief.
The association expressed confidence that Ahsan Habib’s extensive experience, prudence and dynamic leadership would make the NBR’s Customs and VAT wings stronger, more modern and more efficient.
It also said that under his leadership, the revenue authority would be better positioned to achieve its revenue collection targets while ushering in a new era of professional development, enhanced rights and improved facilities for Customs and VAT officials and employees.
The association further said that the entire BACUAV family stands ready to work under his guidance in support of the overall development of the country’s revenue sector.
The government on Monday appointed Ahsan Habib as the acting chairman of the NBR. He has also been given the additional charge of acting secretary of the Internal Resources Division (IRD).
