The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has instructed its field-level officials and employees not to visit its headquarters without prior approval from the appropriate authority, saying unauthorised visits are disrupting administrative operations.

In an office order issued on July 2, the revenue authority said it had recently observed that many officials and staff members from field offices were visiting the NBR headquarters without prior permission and without any official necessity.

Such unauthorised visits, it said, were hampering the normal functioning of the office and were inconsistent with official discipline and administrative decorum.

To ensure smooth administrative operations, the NBR directed all field-level officials and employees to obtain prior approval from their controlling or appropriate authority before visiting the headquarters for either official or personal purposes.
