The Nationalist ICT Forum (NICTF) has reconstituted its 101-member executive committee following an emergency general meeting held in Dhaka on Monday.

The meeting, held at the auditorium of Club Notre Damians Bangladesh Limited in Banani, also approved the forum's constitution, according to a press release.

The constitution was adopted unanimously following discussions on the forum's activities, organisational structure and future plans.

The forum also reorganised its executive committee by redistributing responsibilities among existing office-bearers and inducting several new members.

Under the reconstituted committee, Professor Dr Shah J. Mia was appointed acting president, Rowshan Kamal James general secretary, Reyad Hasnain joint secretary and Engineer Mohammad Jewel organisational secretary.

The forum announced its full 101-member executive committee and expressed hope that the expanded leadership would strengthen its activities and representation of ICT professionals, entrepreneurs and technology experts.

The meeting also approved the opening of membership registration for general members, allowing ICT professionals, entrepreneurs, technologists and other stakeholders to join the organisation.

Speakers at the meeting reiterated the forum's commitment to the development of Bangladesh's information and communication technology sector, protection of the interests of ICT professionals and participation in policy discussions.

The meeting concluded with a call for members to maintain unity and organisational discipline while implementing the forum's future programmes.
