The High Court has granted bail to former Awami League MP and singer Momtaz Begum in three cases linked to the July Uprising.
A High Court bench of Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher granted her bail on Monday.
However, her lawyer Khairunnesa said the former MP is not being released right now because there are more cases against her.
“There are seven cases against her. Of the three cases in which bail was granted [on Monday], two are from Manikganj and the other is from Kotwali Police Station,” Khairunnesa said.
