Meghna Life Insurance PLC has declared a 15 per cent cash dividend for the year ended December 31, 2025, maintaining the same payout as the previous year despite reporting another year of negative operating cash flow.
According to a disclosure posted on Monday, the dividend recommendation will be placed for shareholders' approval at the annual general meeting (AGM), scheduled to be held on August 20 at 11:00am through a digital platform.
The record date has been fixed for July 23 to determine shareholders eligible to attend the AGM and receive the dividend.
The listed life insurer had also paid a 15 per cent cash dividend for 2024.
The company reported a net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of negative Tk 4.19 for the year ended December 31, 2025, compared with negative Tk 13.71 a year earlier, indicating an improvement in cash flow from operations, although it remained in negative territory.
The insurer also disclosed its first-quarter financial results for the January-March period of 2026.
According to the consolidated life revenue account, the excess of total expenses, including claims, over total income (deficit) stood at Tk 459.13 million during the January-March quarter of 2026, compared with a deficit of Tk 781.01 million in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The balance of the Life Insurance Fund increased marginally to Tk 15,275.99 million as of March 31, 2026 from Tk 15,273.01 million a year earlier, registering a net increase of Tk 2.98 million.
Following the disclosure, the company's share price fell 2.3 per cent to close at Tk 59.50 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Monday.
