Law enforcers have seized nearly 19kg of gold bars from a Biman Bangladesh flight that arrived in Chattogram from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Dhaka Customs House Additional Commissioner Kamrul Hasan said the contraband was found on flight BG-138 from Dubai, reports bdnews24.com.

Around 10 am on Thursday, a joint team - which included military intelligence - recovered a total of 160 bars wrapped in Scotch tape from the cargo hold of the aircraft. The bars weighed 18.7kg.

No arrests have been reported in the incident so far.
