on 1 July 2026, Daffodil International University (DIU) welcomed Mr. Tadej Slapnik, a prominent Slovenian tech entrepreneur, former Member of Parliament of Slovenia, and former Secretary of State at the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia from 2014 to 2018.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman of DIU, along with the Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, senior academic leaders, and university officials, welcomed Mr. Slapnik to DIU. The visit featured meaningful discussions on digital transformation, social entrepreneurship, blockchain applications, innovation, and sustainable development.
The meeting reflected a shared commitment to advancing global knowledge exchange, strengthening international collaboration, and promoting sustainable innovation. Mr. Alex Wang, Secretary-General of Youthink Center, China, also accompanied Mr. Slapnik during the visit to explore future opportunities for joint collaboration. Following the meeting, the guests toured the DIU campus at Daffodil Smart City and learned about the university’s initiatives, facilities, and innovation-driven ecosystem.
Mr. Tadej Slapnik is also Co-Chair of the Europe Asia Center on Digital Economy and Industry Innovation, Co-Chair of the High-Level Group on Blockchain for the SDGs, and Chairman of the World Blockchain Hub.
